"Whoever
touches the life of a child touches the most sensitive
point of a whole, which has roots in the most
distant past and climbs toward the infinite future."

The Corpus Christi Montessori School
(CCMS) is a public charter school providing programs
for children in an over compassing Montessori philosophy,
which employs Montessori and Dual Language methodologies.
CCMS is guided by the standards set forth by the American
Montessori Society and research
regarding Dual Language programs.
Our vision for the charter school
stems from the Montessori Association of South Texas
(MAST) vision:
At our schools, children learn by
discovery. They are joyful and confident.
Building communities and nurturing the environment,
our children become ambassadors of the world.
History
In 2003, the Montessori School of
Corpus Christi school board conceived the idea of starting
a charter school. The charter school was realized in
2005 through the primary efforts of a small group of
parents (Dr. Sue Elwood-Salinas, Dr. Susan Wolff-Murphy,
Cerise Weeks). All were looking for ways to advance
the Montessori and Dual Language methodologies through
further educational opportunities for their children
and the greater community.
